Bal Asha Trust works for abandoned and marginalised children found abandoned at various public places around Mumbai every year. These children are in dangerous situations as they are left to the mercy of stray animals, insects and wherever anti-social elements and unhygienic condition exist. There are also children who are surrendered by their birth parents as they are unable to take care of them mainly due to social and medical reasons.
Bal Asha Trust is a unique, leading and professionally managed NGO operating since 1985. Awarded with Ahilyabai Holkar Award by the Government of Maharashtra. Bal Asha Trust is working towards giving quality child care to abandoned and destitute children.
Bal Asha Trust is a home for special needs children between 0-12 years – both girls and boys. The Childrens Home has tie-ups with top notch government and municipal hospitals as well as Jaslok Hospital and Research Center offering excellent medical services.
The home has permission to operate under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2006. It is not funded by the government. Bal Asha Trust works towards finding loving and caring Adoptive homes for abandoned and destitute children specially who are older and special needs from all over Maharashtra. Educational Sponsorship to children within disadvantaged families. Clinic and Dispensary offering free medical consultation and organizing medical checkup camps in Mazgaon and Reay Road area. Tracing families of abandoned children staying in other institutions. Education and Training to Child Care Functionaries all over India including Educational Publication of Books and other material on Adoption, JJ Act and various child related issues. Bal Asha Trust along with its team is committed to providing love and care to needy children and work selflessly in making a positive change in the lives of people who need care and protection.
Our work is supported solely by funding from donations. With this support, we are able to make positive life changing interventions.
